Astra Microwave Products Limited has executed a Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The agreement marks a strategic collaboration in the defence electronics and aerospace segments.
Under the MoU, the two companies will work together on the design, development and manufacturing of advanced electronic modules, subsystems and systems. The collaboration will focus on critical technology areas such as electronic warfare systems, radar platforms and satellite-based solutions.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening indigenous capabilities in advanced defence technologies, in line with India’s broader objective of self-reliance in defence manufacturing. By combining Astra Microwave’s expertise in microwave and RF systems with BEL’s established presence in defence electronics, the alliance is expected to enhance domestic production of high-value defence systems.
As per the disclosure, there is no shareholding involved between the parties, and the agreement does not grant any special rights such as board representation or preferential share subscription. The transaction does not fall under related party transactions.
The MoU is positioned as a strategic collaboration focused on long-term technology development rather than immediate financial commitments, reinforcing both companies’ roles in India’s defence and aerospace ecosystem.
