PTC Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer of high-performance materials and precision-engineered components for Defence and Aerospace applications, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to form a Joint Venture Company focused on advanced propulsion and aero-engine systems.
The new entity will design, develop, and manufacture complete propulsion systems, guided bombs, and aero-engines for missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and loitering munitions, subject to regulatory approvals. The announcement was made during the inauguration of PTC’s Titanium & Superalloys Materials Plant at the Strategic Materials Technology Complex (SMTC) in Lucknow, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
BDL, a leading public sector enterprise, is known for its expertise in guided missiles and underwater weapon systems for the Indian Armed Forces. The collaboration with PTC Industries is expected to strengthen India’s domestic capabilities in propulsion technologies, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
According to PTC Industries Chairman and Managing Director Sachin Agarwal, the partnership marks a significant milestone in India’s self-reliance journey. “By combining BDL’s proven systems expertise with PTC’s advanced materials and manufacturing strengths, the joint venture will build an indigenous ecosystem for missiles, UAVs, and next-generation strategic platforms, fully aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” Agarwal stated.
PTC Industries has been a major player in precision metal manufacturing for over six decades. Through its subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, the company produces titanium and superalloy castings for aerospace applications catering to both domestic and global markets. The company continues to invest in expanding its Strategic Materials Technology Complex, equipped with advanced foundries and machining facilities for aerospace-grade materials.
