Bondada Engineering Limited has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited (BHBPL), to develop and operate a 225 MW/450 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the company’s regulatory disclosure dated September 2, 2026, the subsidiary has been established as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the development, financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation and maintenance of the project.

The BESS project was awarded by AP Transco under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. The project is intended to provide grid-scale energy storage capacity and associated energy management services to support the evolving power requirements of Andhra Pradesh.

Bondada Engineering expands into energy storage

The company said the project is expected to support renewable energy integration, grid balancing, peak-load management and improved power-system flexibility.

Through the newly incorporated SPV, Bondada Engineering will undertake the development and execution of the project, including project financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership and long-term operation and maintenance.

The company stated that the BESS initiative represents an expansion of its infrastructure portfolio into the energy-storage and energy-transition segment. With increasing renewable energy penetration, large-scale battery storage is expected to play a role in balancing power supply and demand and improving grid flexibility.

Details of Bondada’s new subsidiary

As per the disclosure, Bondada Engineering will hold 100% of the paid-up equity share capital of Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited. The subsidiary has been incorporated specifically for the BESS project and will hold the project assets and related investments, subject to the project agreements and applicable regulatory requirements.

The company has subscribed to 1,00,000 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each, involving a subscription amount of ₹10 lakh.

The disclosure also states that the incorporation does not constitute a related-party transaction. The subsidiary operates in the energy, renewable energy, battery energy storage system and power infrastructure segments.

225 MW/450 MWh battery storage capacity

The project has a planned capacity of 225 MW/450 MWh, positioning it as a large-scale energy storage development. Under the BOO model, the SPV will be responsible for the development, implementation, ownership, operation and maintenance of the project.

Bondada Engineering said the project aligns with its broader strategy of expanding into emerging infrastructure opportunities while leveraging its existing execution capabilities and infrastructure experience.

The financial and operational performance of Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited will be reflected in the consolidated financial statements of Bondada Engineering Limited in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
