Highway Infrastructure Limited (HIL) has secured a Rs. 220.66 crore toll operations contract from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for toll collection and allied operations on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
The company said it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from UPEIDA for the assignment, which covers toll collection and the operation of toll plazas along the expressway. The contract also includes the deployment of patrol-cum-safety vehicles equipped with the required facilities.
Highway Infrastructure Toll Operations Contract
The contract has been awarded for an initial period of two years, with a provision for an extension of up to six months at the discretion of UPEIDA.
The total contract value for the two-year period stands at Rs. 220.66 crore. According to the company, the amount payable during the first year will be Rs. 105.08 crore, followed by a 10% escalation in the second year.
The contract adds to Highway Infrastructure Limited’s toll operations portfolio and expands its presence across expressway and highway corridors in India.
Gorakhpur Link Expressway Operations
The Gorakhpur Link Expressway is an infrastructure project intended to improve connectivity in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The expressway is expected to support movement of people and goods while strengthening connectivity between key locations in the region.
The project is also associated with improved logistics movement and greater connectivity for trade and economic activities along the corridor.

Commenting on the contract, Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director of Highway Infrastructure Limited, said the company had received the Rs. 220.66 crore tollway collection mandate from UPEIDA.
According to the company, the contract is expected to add to its toll management operations and provide further experience in managing large-scale toll assignments. HIL also said it continues to develop technology-led solutions focused on toll collection efficiency, transaction accuracy and operational performance.
The company stated that the new contract forms part of its efforts to expand its toll operations across major highway and expressway corridors and pursue additional infrastructure opportunities.
