HCLTech has completed the acquisition of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) Telco Solutions business, marking another step in the company’s strategy to strengthen its communications technology offerings. The transaction, originally announced in December 2025, expands HCLTech’s engineering capabilities and AI-driven telecom solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs).
The acquisition follows HCLTech’s successful integration of HPE’s Communications Technology Group (CTG) business in 2024. With the addition of the Telco Solutions business, the company aims to help telecom operators accelerate network modernization, AI-led automation and digital transformation initiatives.
The combined capabilities bring together HCLTech’s engineering expertise with HPE’s telecom intellectual property, products and domain knowledge. According to the company, the expanded portfolio is designed to support telecom operators as they transition toward AI-powered, software-defined and cloud-native networks.
The acquisition broadens HCLTech’s telecom offerings across multiple areas, including Operational Support Systems (OSS), Home Subscriber Server (HSS), 5G Subscriber Data Management (SDM), Business Support Systems (BSS), Service Management and Orchestration (SMO), digital twin technologies, AI-enabled radio applications, eSIM capabilities, media and video solutions, virtualization and industrial Internet of Things (IoT).
HCLTech also said the transaction strengthens its presence across major Communications Service Provider markets in North America, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan. The company expects the acquisition to improve its local delivery capabilities and expand support for global telecom customers.
In addition, nearly 1,400 engineering and telecom specialists across 39 countries have joined HCLTech through the acquisition. The expanded workforce enhances engineering depth and nearshore delivery capabilities across India, Japan, Spain, Italy, Romania and Latin America.
Commenting on the acquisition, Anil Ganjoo, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Telecom, Media and Technology at HCLTech, said the integration of HPE’s CTG business and the Telco Solutions acquisition combines telecom expertise, engineering capabilities and intellectual property to help communications service providers simplify operations, modernize networks and accelerate AI-led autonomous operations.
Rami Rahim, Executive Vice President, President and General Manager, Networking at HPE, said HCLTech has been a long-standing partner and expressed confidence in its ability to build on the Telco Solutions business while supporting global communications service providers as they modernize their networks.
HCLTech stated that the combined business is positioned to support telecom operators in areas such as network virtualization, convergence, multi-cloud environments, edge and data center networking, Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), private 5G deployments and telecom OEM ecosystem transformation.
