Ather Energy Limited, one of India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers, has achieved a significant production milestone with the rollout of its 5,00,000th electric scooter from its Hosur manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The milestone vehicle was Ather’s popular family model, the Rizta, which has quickly emerged as one of the company’s strongest growth drivers since its launch in 2024.
Within just a year of its launch, the Ather Rizta has become a central pillar of the company’s growth, contributing to more than one-third of total production volumes. The company has also been expanding its retail presence across tier 2 and tier 3 cities, while strengthening its network in metro markets.
Ather currently operates two manufacturing facilities in Hosur, dedicated to vehicle assembly and battery production, with a combined capacity of 4,20,000 scooters per year. To meet increasing demand, the company is establishing Factory 3.0 in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The new facility will be developed in two phases under Industry 4.0 principles, integrating advanced digital technologies into its production systems. Once operational, Ather’s total installed capacity across facilities will reach 1.42 million electric scooters annually.
Swapnil Jain, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ather Energy, said the milestone reflects the company’s continuous focus on quality and innovation. “Crossing 5,00,000 scooters is a major milestone for Ather. From our first prototype to today, our journey has been about building not just vehicles, but a scalable and reliable manufacturing ecosystem,” he said. He credited the achievement to Ather’s engineering teams, manufacturing excellence, and the trust of its growing customer community.
