Cyient Foundation, the CSR arm of Cyient, has partnered with SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation to establish an AI and Future Skills Center of Excellence at the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre in Dimapur. The initiative aims to enhance AI-led skilling, digital literacy and employability among youth in the North-East region.
The Center was inaugurated by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient Limited. The project marks a major step in expanding access to advanced technology training in emerging regions.
Acting as the Program Management and Implementation Partner, Cyient Foundation conceptualised, designed and executed the project. The Center will offer training in AI, robotics, coding, software technologies and handloom and handicrafts, supporting both employability and entrepreneurship.
SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation contributed funding for infrastructure development, including AI simulation labs and digital classrooms. The initiative also aligns with NITI Aayog’s efforts to promote adoption of emerging technologies in skilling programs.
The Center is expected to train 200–240 youth annually, with nearly 75 percent of participants projected to find employment or become self-employed within three months of completing the program. The model incorporates faculty development, AI-based curriculum integration and market linkage support.
The initiative supports national missions such as Digital India, Skill India and Viksit Bharat 2047, contributing to India’s goal of developing a future-ready and technologically empowered workforce.
Cyient Foundation continues to broaden its social impact across education, digital literacy and women’s empowerment. The organisation has digitised over 120 government schools, reached more than 35,000 students with digital learning programs, and trains over 2,000 rural women annually through livelihood initiatives.
