Cyient Semiconductors has announced the successful completion of its $85 million majority investment in Kinetic Technologies, marking a significant step in its strategy to build a global power semiconductor platform from India.

The transaction brings together Cyient Semiconductors’ engineering expertise with Kinetic Technologies’ established portfolio in power management and protection integrated circuits. Kinetic Technologies, a global semiconductor solutions provider, contributes a strong foundation with more than 100 silicon intellectual properties and over 250 custom and Application-Specific Standard Products.

The combined platform is expected to enhance Cyient’s ability to deliver end-to-end custom semiconductor solutions, particularly in high-growth areas such as power management, display power, protection, and interface technologies. The integration also enables immediate scale through Kinetic’s existing product base, intellectual property, and customer relationships.

This investment aligns with Cyient Semiconductors’ broader strategy to develop a differentiated, India-led semiconductor ecosystem catering to global demand. The company is targeting a substantial opportunity in the power and compute semiconductor segments, estimated at around $44 billion globally.

By leveraging complementary strengths, the partnership is expected to expand design capabilities, accelerate research and development efforts, and improve operational efficiencies. Cyient gains access to Kinetic’s established customer base, while Kinetic benefits from enhanced engineering resources and global reach.

Kinetic Technologies will continue to operate under its current leadership structure, ensuring continuity in business operations. Cyient Semiconductors will provide strategic oversight while supporting expansion initiatives and innovation-led growth.

Company executives highlighted that the transaction strengthens their ability to scale globally and address increasingly complex power semiconductor requirements across industries. The collaboration is also expected to contribute to India’s ambitions of becoming a global hub for semiconductor innovation and manufacturing under the India Semiconductor Mission.
