Enviro Infra Engineers Limited (EIEL) has announced the securing of five major infrastructure projects in March 2026 with a combined order value of ₹1,481 crore. The development comes as the company moves toward closing the financial year on a strong note while enhancing its order book and revenue visibility for upcoming periods.
A significant portion of the newly secured contracts worth ₹1,070 crore relates to the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment, marking the company’s strategic entry into energy storage within the renewable energy ecosystem. The projects collectively account for a storage capacity of 930 MWh and are primarily associated with NTPC Limited, reflecting a scale-up in execution capabilities for complex energy infrastructure.
The company stated that its expansion into the BESS segment aligns with India’s increasing focus on renewable energy integration and grid stability. Energy storage is becoming a critical component in managing peak demand and ensuring uninterrupted power supply, especially as renewable energy penetration rises across the country.
EIEL highlighted that India’s battery storage market is still in its early stages, with less than 1% of required capacity currently installed. This leaves a substantial opportunity for growth, estimated at over 200 GW, positioning BESS as a key pillar in the future energy landscape. The company aims to leverage early-mover advantage in this space.
In addition to strengthening its presence in the renewable sector, the newly secured projects expand EIEL’s geographical footprint into Bihar, Assam, and Telangana. These regions are considered key growth markets for both infrastructure development and energy transition initiatives.
Chairman Sanjay Jain, commenting on the development, stated that the company’s association with NTPC in these projects represents a milestone in its diversification strategy. He noted that battery energy storage systems will play a crucial role in enabling round-the-clock renewable energy and supporting grid reliability.
The company also indicated that alongside its established water and wastewater treatment business, the addition of large-scale BESS projects exceeding ₹1,070 crore signals its transition into a more diversified infrastructure player with a focus on sustainable and clean energy solutions.
