ABB India has announced plans to invest approximately $75 million in the country during 2026 to expand its manufacturing capacity and strengthen its research and development capabilities. The investment aims to support the growing demand for advanced electrification and automation solutions across key infrastructure sectors.

The expansion will focus on increasing manufacturing capabilities for critical infrastructure segments such as renewable energy, metro rail systems, and data centers. ABB stated that the investment will enhance its production footprint across five manufacturing locations in India, helping the company deliver localized technology solutions for domestic and global markets.

As part of the investment plan, ABB will establish advanced research and testing laboratories in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These facilities are expected to support the development of next-generation electrification and automation technologies while strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities in India.

The company said the initiative aligns with India’s manufacturing growth strategy and the broader push toward localized production of advanced technologies. By expanding its manufacturing and research ecosystem, ABB aims to support infrastructure modernization and the energy transition in the country.

The expansion is also expected to generate more than 300 skilled jobs across engineering, operations, and research roles.
