Data Patterns (India) Limited has secured a ₹279 crore contract from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for the supply of Doppler Weather Radar systems, according to a regulatory filing dated March 15, 2026.
The order includes the supply of 34 Doppler Weather Radar units that will be deployed across different regions of India to enhance the country’s weather monitoring infrastructure. Doppler Weather Radar systems are used for tracking rainfall, storms, wind patterns, and severe weather conditions, enabling more accurate forecasting and early warning systems.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the contract was part of previously negotiated agreements with the Indian Meteorological Department. The order was announced following the company’s third quarter results for the financial year 2025–26.
The deployment of additional Doppler Weather Radars is expected to strengthen the IMD’s ability to monitor extreme weather events and improve disaster preparedness across the country. These systems play a critical role in detecting cyclones, heavy rainfall, and other weather disturbances in real time.
The latest contract further expands the company’s presence in radar and advanced electronics systems while supporting India’s efforts to enhance meteorological infrastructure and weather forecasting capabilities.
