Olectra Greentech Limited has secured a major electric mobility order linked to Telangana’s public transport modernization program, following the award of two Letters of Award to Evey Trans Private Limited by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).
Under the agreement, Evey Trans will undertake the supply, operation and maintenance of 1,085 electric buses for intra city operations across Telangana. The fleet will consist of 1,025 twelve meter non AC buses and 60 twelve meter AC buses, aimed at strengthening sustainable urban transportation.
As part of the arrangement, Evey Trans will procure the buses from Olectra Greentech, positioning the company as the primary manufacturer and maintenance partner for the project. The contract follows a Gross Cost Contract model with an operational tenure of 12 years, ensuring long term deployment and service support.
The company stated that the total value of the bus supply is estimated at approximately ₹1,800 crore for Olectra. In addition to manufacturing and delivery, Olectra will also undertake maintenance responsibilities throughout the contract duration, providing recurring operational engagement.
Delivery of the electric buses is scheduled to be completed over a period of 20 months. The order has been classified as a domestic contract, with no promoter or group company interest in the awarding authority. The related party transactions between Olectra and Evey Trans will be conducted on an arm’s length basis, in line with regulatory requirements.
The development is expected to strengthen Olectra Greentech’s presence in India’s rapidly expanding electric public transportation sector, as state transport undertakings continue to accelerate fleet electrification to reduce emissions and operating costs.
