Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power, has commissioned 322 MWp of ground-mounted decentralised solar power projects across Nashik district, Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0.
The projects have been developed as part of the feeder-level solarisation initiative under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, aimed at supplying renewable power closer to agricultural consumption centres.
According to the company, the commissioned solar portfolio is spread across 50 locations covering 14 talukas in Nashik district. The projects are designed to support agricultural feeder solarisation and provide daytime electricity to farmers.
Power generated from the projects will be supplied to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
322 MWp Solar Capacity Across 50 Locations
Torrent Green Energy said the project represents one of the more extensive and geographically diversified agricultural feeder solarisation portfolios implemented under the MSKVY framework.
The decentralised nature of the projects is intended to bring renewable power generation closer to agricultural demand centres. This is expected to support daytime electricity availability for farmers while potentially improving grid efficiency and reducing distribution-related losses.
The projects also align with the government’s broader objectives of agricultural solarisation, renewable energy adoption and greater energy self-reliance.
Multi-Location Development
The company said commissioning the portfolio involved coordinated development across multiple sites, including addressing land-related matters, grid connectivity, local clearances, engineering requirements and simultaneous construction activities.
Torrent Power Whole-Time Director Jigish Mehta said the commissioning reflects the collaborative efforts of MSEDCL, local administration, landowners, project partners, contractors and Torrent’s project teams.
The company said the milestone reinforces its focus on supporting India’s clean energy transition while contributing to a more reliable and sustainable daytime electricity supply for the agricultural sector.

Torrent Power operates across the power value chain, including generation, transmission and distribution. The company has been expanding its renewable energy portfolio alongside its conventional power generation and utility operations.
The commissioning of the 322 MWp Nashik solar projects adds to its presence in decentralised renewable power generation and supports the implementation of feeder-level solarisation under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
With the projects now commissioned, the portfolio is expected to contribute renewable electricity to Maharashtra’s agricultural power network under the long-term PPAs with MSEDCL.
