Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched India’s first flex-fuel passenger car, marking a significant step in the country’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions. The flex-fuel vehicle, based on the popular Wagon R platform, was unveiled in New Delhi on June 4, 2026, ahead of World Environment Day.

The launch event was attended by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri. The introduction of the vehicle aligns with the Government of India’s efforts to increase ethanol usage, reduce dependence on imported crude oil, and strengthen energy security.
