The project involves the four-laning of the Sahebganj–Areraj–Bettiah section of NH-139W, spanning a total length of 78.942 kilometres. The corridor is divided into two sections: Sahebganj to Areraj (38.362 km) and Areraj to Bettiah (40.580 km).

Project Scope and Strategic Importance

The four-lane highway corridor is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity in Bihar by enabling faster movement of goods and passengers. The project is also aimed at enhancing road safety standards and supporting logistics efficiency across the state.

The Hybrid Annuity Model structure combines government support with private sector participation, reducing traffic risk exposure while ensuring stable annuity-based returns over the concession period.

He emphasized that strengthening national highway networks remains critical for improving logistics efficiency, accelerating economic growth, and enhancing connectivity across regions.
