SPML Infra Limited has secured a contract worth ₹165.41 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for the construction of a 400 kV grid sub-station and associated transmission infrastructure in Kota, Rajasthan.
The project, which is expected to be completed within 18 months, further expands the company’s presence in India’s power transmission and infrastructure sector amid increasing investments in grid modernization and renewable energy integration.
According to the company, the contract involves the development of a 400 kV grid sub-station at Dahra in Kota district. The scope of work includes supply, erection, testing, and commissioning activities along with associated civil and communication infrastructure.
The project scope also includes installation of a 500 MVA autotransformer bay, a 420 kV bus-type shunt reactor bay, multiple feeder bays and tie bays, along with automation systems required for grid operations.
Rajasthan continues to remain one of India’s major renewable energy hubs with growing demand for transmission infrastructure capable of handling both conventional and renewable power sources. Expansion of high-voltage transmission systems is considered important for improving grid reliability and facilitating power evacuation across the state.
SPML Infra stated that the order adds to its existing power infrastructure portfolio and aligns with the company’s focus on government-funded infrastructure projects. The company currently operates across multiple business segments including water infrastructure, power projects, and energy storage solutions.
Company management stated that the project represents another addition to its growing order book and supports its long-term focus on strengthening infrastructure capabilities in the energy sector.
The latest contract win is expected to enhance SPML Infra’s project pipeline as infrastructure investments and transmission capacity expansion continue to gain momentum across India.
