Suzlon Energy Limited has secured its sixth repeat wind energy order of approximately 100 MW from Gas Authority of India Limited GAIL further strengthening its presence in the public sector undertaking segment. The development highlights Suzlon’s growing role in India’s renewable energy expansion and continued collaboration with major government backed entities.

The project will be executed in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra marking an expansion of Suzlon’s long standing partnership with GAIL across multiple states. This latest order also represents Suzlon’s fourth PSU order in the current financial year indicating strong momentum in government driven renewable energy projects.

Suzlon will supply 47 advanced S120 wind turbine generators each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The company will also undertake complete project execution including supply installation erection commissioning and long term operations and maintenance services ensuring end to end delivery of the project.

The power generated from this wind project is expected to support the decarbonisation of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant in Maharashtra aligning with India’s broader clean energy transition goals and industrial sustainability initiatives.

Suzlon continues to maintain a strong presence in Maharashtra’s wind energy market with over 2.2 GW of installed capacity and a significant share in the state’s total wind capacity. The company’s continued expansion in the region reinforces its leadership position and execution capabilities in one of India’s key renewable energy hubs.

The order further strengthens Suzlon’s growing footprint in the PSU segment following previous engagements with major public sector entities such as NTPC BPCL and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The company has been focusing on both PSU and commercial and industrial clients which together form a substantial portion of its order book.
