Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has announced that it has received a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the deployment of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across the state of Maharashtra.
The empanelment covers the supply and installation of 6,580 solar-powered water pumps with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The total project value is estimated at ₹155.24 crore, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the scope of work includes end-to-end execution such as design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar pumping systems. The execution timeline for the project is set at 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed.
The order has been awarded by a domestic entity, and the company confirmed that there is no involvement of promoters or related parties in the awarding entity. Additionally, the contract does not fall under related party transactions.
This development reinforces Shakti Pumps’ position in the renewable energy and agricultural irrigation solutions segment, particularly in government-backed solar initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable farming practices.
