Suzlon Energy and Yanara Secures 306 MW Wind Power Orders in Rajasthan

Key Highlights

  • Suzlon Energy and Yanara extend partnership with fresh 306 MW wind turbine orders in Rajasthan.
  • Two new contracts of 153 MW each signed for firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects in Barmer.
  • Suzlon to supply 102 S144 wind turbine generators with 3 MW rated capacity each.
  • Suzlon commands a 44% share of Rajasthan’s 5.2 GW installed wind capacity.
  • Projects will support power supply commitments to utilities including NTPC and NHPC.

Suzlon Energy Limited and Yanara have expanded their long-standing partnership with the signing of new wind turbine supply agreements totaling 306 MW for projects in Rajasthan. The latest orders further strengthen Suzlon’s position in India’s wind energy sector while supporting Yanara’s expanding portfolio of firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects.

The collaboration includes two contracts of 153 MW each for projects to be executed in the Barmer district. Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 102 S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW, using hybrid lattice tower technology. These installations are part of Yanara’s utility-scale renewable developments aimed at delivering reliable and continuous clean power.

Suzlon continues to maintain a strong presence in Rajasthan, with over 2.3 GW of installed wind capacity in the state, accounting for about 44% of Rajasthan’s total wind capacity of 5.2 GW. Alongside the new orders, the company is also executing engineering, procurement, and construction projects totaling 791 MW across the state.

Power generated from the Barmer projects will partially fulfil Yanara’s power purchase agreement obligations with major utilities, including NTPC and NHPC. The projects align with Yanara’s strategy of developing hybrid renewable assets that integrate wind, solar, and energy storage technologies.

Yanara is building a grid-scale portfolio of multi-technology renewable energy projects across India and the Asia-Pacific region. The Rajasthan projects follow the company’s earlier solar-wind hybrid project in Maharashtra, which is nearing completion and also includes wind turbines supplied by Suzlon.

The extended partnership reflects continued momentum in India’s renewable energy sector as developers and equipment manufacturers collaborate to support the country’s clean energy transition and long-term non-fossil fuel capacity targets.
