Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has secured a major domestic order for the supply of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra. The contract has been awarded by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited as part of state and central renewable energy initiatives.
The order includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of 12,883 off-grid DC solar water pumps with capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP. The systems will be deployed across the state under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, aligned with the PM KUSUM B scheme aimed at expanding solar-powered irrigation infrastructure.
The total value of the contract is approximately ₹356.77 crore, inclusive of GST, while the value excluding GST stands at around ₹327.62 crore. As per the disclosed terms, the project is required to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or notice to proceed.
The company clarified that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not qualify as a related-party transaction. It also confirmed that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding authority.
This latest order further strengthens Shakti Pumps’ order book and supports its long-term growth strategy in the renewable energy and agri-infrastructure segment, driven by sustained government focus on solar adoption and rural electrification.
