Ola Electric Mobility Limited has announced the launch of its new electric scooter, the S1 X equipped with a 5.2 kWh battery pack based on its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cells. The product was officially launched on April 13, 2026, as part of the company’s broader strategy to scale high-performance electric mobility solutions across India. The launch also reflects the company’s continued push toward vertical integration in EV manufacturing.

The newly introduced S1 X 5.2 kWh variant is positioned to make long-range electric scooters more accessible to the mass market. It delivers a certified IDC range of 320 kilometres and a top speed of 125 kmph, placing it among the higher-range offerings in its segment. The scooter is powered by an 11 kW mid-drive motor integrated with a Motor Control Unit, enabling improved performance and energy efficiency.

In terms of features, the model includes brake-by-wire technology and front disc brakes, aimed at enhancing safety and providing better control during riding. The integration of advanced electronics and battery technology is intended to offer a balanced combination of performance, range, and reliability.

Ola Electric has introduced the S1 X 5.2 kWh at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999, which is valid until April 15, 2026. The pricing strategy positions the scooter competitively within the growing electric two-wheeler market, especially in the long-range category.

The launch underscores Ola Electric’s focus on in-house innovation, particularly in battery cell development and EV architecture. The use of 4680 Bharat Cells marks a significant step in localising advanced battery technologies and improving scalability. The company aims to leverage this technology to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across the country.

Ola Electric continues to expand its product portfolio across different segments. Its Gen 3 scooter lineup includes multiple variants under the S1 range, while its Roadster motorcycle series offers several battery configurations. The addition of the S1 X 5.2 kWh further strengthens the company’s presence in the high-range electric scooter segment.
