Ola Electric Mobility Limited has announced that the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has approved revised timelines under the Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for its wholly owned subsidiary, Ola Cell Technologies Private Limited. The revised schedule provides the company with a full five-year incentive window through calendar year 2031.

Under the revised timeline, Ola Electric is eligible for cumulative PLI incentives of up to ₹7,240 crore. The incentives are scheduled to be disbursed quarterly over the next five years, beginning from the next quarter, subject to the applicable scheme conditions.

Government Revises ACC PLI Timeline

The revised timeline follows changes to the original ACC PLI schedule. According to Ola Electric, the updated framework provides additional time for the company to utilise the incentive opportunity associated with its battery-cell manufacturing operations.

The company said the revised schedule extends the operational window for its ACC PLI gigafactory towards the targeted 20 GWh capacity. The move is expected to provide greater visibility for the development and scaling of its cell manufacturing business.

Ola Electric Cell Manufacturing Capacity

Ola Electric currently has 2.5 GWh of installed cell-manufacturing capacity. The company expects this capacity to reach 3.5 GWh under the existing plan and has stated that it is targeting 6 GWh by the end of the current quarter.

The company said it achieved the initial installed-capacity milestone ahead of the revised December 2026 timeline.

₹7,240 Crore PLI Opportunity

The revised ACC PLI timeline allows Ola Electric to access incentives of up to ₹7,240 crore over the five-year period. The company said the quarterly disbursement structure will provide an incentive stream for its cell manufacturing operations.

The development is significant for Ola Electric’s battery business as the company continues to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities and develop an integrated battery ecosystem.

Focus on NMC and LFP Battery Technologies

Ola Electric is developing a multi-chemistry cell platform covering Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technologies. The company said its battery-cell development is supported by indigenous research and development, along with efforts to improve battery-material processing, manufacturing yields and closed-loop material recovery.

The company is positioning lithium-cell manufacturing as a key component of its broader electric mobility and energy-storage strategy.

Ola Electric’s Next Phase of Expansion

The company said the expanded PLI window will support its plans to scale domestic cell manufacturing and strengthen its battery operations. Ola Electric is also expected to outline its broader energy-product roadmap, including Shakti and Mahashakti, at its annual Sankalp event on Independence Day.

The revised government timeline gives Ola Electric additional time to execute its cell manufacturing plans while providing access to a potential ₹7,240 crore incentive pool through CY2031.
