Bengaluru : AXISCADES Technologies Ltd, a leader in technology and engineering solutions, has announced that its subsidiary, Epcogen, has secured a long-term contract with Highview Power Limited, a British company specializing in energy storage technology.
Highview Power, known for its development of long-duration energy storage solutions from renewable sources, has raised funds to launch its first major project: the Carrington Power Project in Manchester, UK.
This project will house the world’s largest liquid air energy storage (LAES) facility, with a 50 MW, 300 MWh (six-hour) capacity designed to power over 1 million homes in the UK. Construction of the Carrington facility is set to begin immediately, with commercial operations expected to start in 2026.
Epcogen has been engaged by Highview Power for engineering services on the Carrington Power Project, covering various disciplines. FEED began in mid-2022 and continued until 2024 to build investor confidence. The project is now entering the EPC execution phase.
John Goldie, Programme Director at Highview Power, expressed enthusiasm about continuing the relationship with Epcogen, praising their experience, flexibility, and innovative solutions. Epcogen is not only working on the Carrington facility but also on FEED for Highview Power’s upcoming large-scale projects with a total capacity of 2.5 GWh.
Highview Power’s UK office will handle Process Technology and Project Management, while the Dubai office will oversee Procurement and Project Engineering for major equipment. This ongoing collaboration highlights a significant advance in global energy storage solutions.
