Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has reached a significant milestone by achieving 1 GWp of rooftop solar installation capacity within the first nine months of FY26. The milestone reinforces the company’s leadership position in India’s rooftop solar market across residential as well as commercial and industrial segments.
During the nine-month period, the company added over 1 GWp of rooftop solar capacity, recording a strong 127 percent year-on-year growth compared to installations achieved in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Customer adoption also witnessed a sharp acceleration, with 1.7 lakh new customers added during FY26 so far, reflecting a 345 percent year-on-year increase. This expansion has taken the cumulative customer base beyond 3 lakh, with total installed rooftop solar capacity now exceeding 4 GWp across India.
The October to December quarter of FY26 emerged as a breakout phase for the company, with 58,476 rooftop solar installations and 372 MWp of capacity added, translating into a 242 percent year-on-year growth. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Telangana led installations during the last nine months, while Maharashtra and Gujarat continued to dominate on a cumulative basis, followed by Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. The broad-based geographic growth highlights the company’s execution capabilities and strong pan-India presence.
