Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), the aerospace and defence arm of the Tata Group, has selected Ramco Systems to implement its next-generation aviation software at the company’s upcoming Defence Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. The new facility will support maintenance operations for Lockheed Martin’s C-130J Super Hercules aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force.
Ramco Systems announced that its advanced Aviation MRO platform will form the digital backbone of the facility’s operations. The integrated software suite will support multiple operational functions including contract and quote management, maintenance planning, hangar and component maintenance, supply chain management, engineering and quality processes, and customer billing.
The implementation will also include Ramco’s digital solutions such as mobile applications, digital task cards, e-publications, and resource planning tools. These technologies are expected to enable real-time access to operational data and enhance efficiency across shopfloor activities and associated functions.
According to the companies, the deployment is part of TASL’s strategy to build a modern and technology-enabled MRO ecosystem in India. The organization aims to adopt end-to-end digital processing of maintenance workflows and establish a fully digital shopfloor supported by mobile applications and integrated original equipment manufacturer (OEM) documentation systems.
The Ramco Aviation platform will also integrate with TASL’s enterprise resource planning systems to streamline operational workflows. The unified system is expected to improve visibility across operations, optimize the use of manpower and materials, and enhance turnaround time for maintenance activities.
Sandesh Bilagi, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ramco Systems, stated that the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting India’s aerospace and defence ecosystem. He noted that the technology platform is designed to ensure operational stability, minimize downtime, and maintain readiness of the C-130J Super Hercules fleet for the Indian Air Force.
Ramco Aviation Software currently supports more than 24,000 users managing over 4,000 aircraft globally. The platform is used by more than 90 aviation organizations including airlines, defence forces, helicopter operators, and third-party maintenance providers. The solution is available on cloud infrastructure and includes advanced capabilities such as artificial intelligence-based analytics, voice-enabled interfaces, and digital maintenance tools.
