The agreement is made between NHPC Limited and the Department of Industries, Government of Rajasthan, aimed at developing Pumped Storage Projects, Renewable Energy initiatives (including Solar, Floating Solar, and Wind), and Battery Energy Storage Systems within the state. Specific projects are yet to be identified or allocated by the government.
The key terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) indicate that NHPC Ltd. intends to invest approximately ₹50,000 crores for the development of these projects across various locations in Rajasthan. In return, the Government of Rajasthan will facilitate the acquisition of necessary permissions and clearances from relevant departments, in accordance with the state’s existing policies, rules, and regulations.
