Mahindra has launched its cutting-edge manufacturing and battery assembly facility at the Chakan plant, dedicated to producing Electric Origin SUVs. Located within the company’s expansive, eco-friendly Chakan hub, the facility is powered by renewable energy and focuses on sustainable, innovative manufacturing.
Mahindra has allocated ₹4,500 Crores out of the ₹16,000 Crores planned for the F22–F27 investment cycle to expand manufacturing capacity and develop powertrains and products.
The facility features over 1000 robots, Industry 4.0 technology, and a strong focus on quality, skill development, and gender diversity. Additionally, its compact, fully automated battery assembly line uses patented processes to produce high-performance batteries with a focus on durability, safety, and reliability.
