Full Article: Tata Power, India’s leading integrated power utility and EV charging provider, in partnership with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM), has inaugurated the country’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger hub in Mumbai. The launch coincided with World EV Day.

The charging hub, located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport within The Leela Mumbai premises, is the first co-branded initiative under the TATA.ev MegaCharger program. It is designed to cater to private car owners, taxis, ride-hailing fleets, and logistics operators.

Equipped with eight fast DC chargers of up to 120 kW capacity, the facility offers 16 charging bays, allowing multiple vehicles to be charged simultaneously. The hub will operate round-the-clock and is powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, stated that the project highlights the company’s commitment to green mobility and renewable energy integration. He emphasized that such hubs will be expanded across major Indian cities to accelerate EV adoption.

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said the initiative is a milestone in strengthening India’s EV charging ecosystem. He noted that Tata Motors’ partnership with Tata Power has been central to advancing reliable and widespread charging solutions across the country.

The Mumbai hub joins Tata Power’s existing network of over 1,000 green charging points in the city and is part of the broader national charging infrastructure of more than 5,500 public and captive chargers, 1.4 lakh home chargers, and 1,200 bus charging points across 630 cities. By 2030, Tata Power aims to expand this network to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points.

As part of the TATA.ev MegaCharger initiative, the hub is accessible to all EV users, with TATA.ev customers receiving additional benefits such as up to 25% discounts and priority charging access. Services are available via the Tata Power EZ Charge app and will soon be integrated into the iRA.ev connected car app.
