New Delhi, September 25, 2025: MapmyIndia’s flagship Mappls App, India’s indigenous maps and navigation platform, has rolled out three new features that aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more cost-efficient. The updates include AI-powered live traffic signal timers, NHAI Annual Toll Pass savings visibility, and toll road distance tracking.

The new features have been launched in collaboration with the Bengaluru Traffic Police, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Arcadis. They are currently live on iOS devices and will soon be available to Android users as well.

The Mappls App has integrated more than 125 smart traffic signals across Bengaluru. With this update, commuters can now view live signal countdowns including green, amber, and red lights up to 500 meters in advance. The feature provides greater predictability in traffic movement and helps improve estimated time of arrival (ETA) accuracy.

Another major update is the introduction of NHAI Annual Toll Pass savings on the app. Drivers can now see potential savings on toll charges before starting their trip. This helps frequent travelers plan more cost-effective routes. Users who wish to purchase the pass can download the Rajmargyatra mobile app.

In addition, the Mappls App now features toll road distance tracking. Commuters can view the exact number of kilometers traveled on toll roads, ensuring transparency and helping them manage travel budgets more effectively.

Karthik Reddy, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru, said that the initiative will ease congestion, reduce wait times, and promote better road discipline. He described the rollout as an important step in making the city’s traffic systems smarter and more citizen-friendly.
