Ashok Leyland, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and flagship of the Hinduja Group, has announced its acquisition of the largest-ever order for fully built buses from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). The order comprises 2,104 units of the Viking passenger bus model. This milestone further solidifies Ashok Leyland’s dominant position in the bus segment.

MSRTC, one of the largest state transport undertakings in India with a fleet exceeding 15,000 buses, will see Ashok Leyland buses play a significant role in its operations. These buses, fully compliant with the latest CMVR standards and featuring AIS 153 compliant bodies, are equipped with the proven iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology boasting a 197 HP H-Series Engine and Rear Air Suspension, among other advanced features.

Manufactured at Ashok Leyland’s cutting-edge bus body plants, these buses promise enhanced safety, improved comfort, and lower total cost of ownership for MSRTC.
