Gensol Engineering Limited (BSE: 542851, NSE: GENSOL), a renowned player in solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, as well as the electric mobility sector, has clinched its largest-ever turnkey EPC contract in terms of size and value from a prominent power generation utility in Maharashtra. This groundbreaking project entails the establishment of a 100 MWAC/135 MWp ground-mount solar PV power plant spanning 500 acres in Maharashtra, with a total contract worth of INR 520 Crore. This significant accomplishment underscores Gensol’s leading position in the renewable energy industry.
Aligned with the forward-thinking policies introduced by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in April 2022, the project aims to bolster Maharashtra’s energy infrastructure while making substantial contributions towards India’s sustainable energy objectives.
As a comprehensive end-to-end initiative, Gensol will oversee the entire project lifecycle, including land acquisition—a substantial endeavor that highlights the project’s scale and complexity—as well as design, engineering, procurement, logistics, civil and electrical works, permit acquisition, plant installation, commissioning, and three years of operational management, inclusive of maintenance for the plant’s switchyard and extensive transmission infrastructure.
The awarding of this contract to Gensol underscores the company’s increasing capabilities and consistent track record of timely project delivery within the renewable energy sector. The company is poised to meet the tender’s requirement for completion within a 450-day timeline.
