Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGX) to modernise the exchange’s market infrastructure through the implementation of an integrated trading, clearing and surveillance technology platform.
The partnership is aimed at creating a scalable technology foundation for DGX, enabling the exchange to support future growth, improve operational efficiency, introduce new products and expand into emerging asset classes.
TCS, a global IT services, consulting and business solutions provider, will deliver a technology platform integrating trading, clearing, surveillance, securities trading and market connectivity capabilities.
Integrated Market Infrastructure Platform
Under the agreement, TCS will deploy multiple solutions to strengthen DGX’s derivatives market infrastructure. These include TCS BaNCS™ for Market Infrastructure for central counterparty clearing and Quartz™ for Surveillance, which is designed to monitor and identify potential market manipulation, fraud and other abnormalities.
The platform will also incorporate TCS BaNCS Securities Trading, supporting market participants in accessing and trading across asset classes.
In addition, TCS’ Quartz Gateway will provide industry-standard market connectivity, alongside generative AI-powered reporting, analytics and decision-making capabilities. The solution will also include exchange trading and matching technology from a global exchange partner.
The solutions are being provided through BFSI Products and Platforms, TCS’ strategic business group serving financial services and insurance organisations.
Supporting Expansion Across Asset Classes
The technology upgrade is expected to support DGX’s derivatives products across energy commodities, currencies, equities, bullion and precious metals. The infrastructure is also intended to provide a foundation for continued product development and expansion into emerging asset classes, including crypto and tokenised assets.
DGX has recently expanded its product offering, including the launch in June 2026 of the Gold Spot T+0 Contract, described in the release as the Gulf Cooperation Council’s first same-day physically settled spot gold product offered on a regulated exchange.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DGX, said the partnership with TCS would strengthen the exchange’s technology foundation and provide greater capacity to develop and introduce new products.
He added that Dubai’s position as a major centre for commodities and capital flows supported the need for market infrastructure capable of connecting regional and international participants with products, technology and connectivity.
TCS Highlights Need for Scalable Financial Market Technology
R. Vivekanand, President, BFSI Products and Platforms, TCS, said financial market infrastructure is undergoing significant changes as exchanges balance technological innovation with requirements around resilience, security and operational robustness.
According to TCS, its combination of technology solutions, including BaNCS and Quartz, will help DGX build a modern and scalable platform capable of supporting growth and product innovation.
The company said its experience in delivering mission-critical solutions across global markets, including the Middle East, positions it to support DGX’s technology transformation.
Focus on Flexibility and Future Growth
The upgraded infrastructure is designed to provide DGX with greater flexibility to bring new products to market while strengthening the exchange’s existing technology environment.
The partnership comes as exchanges and financial market infrastructure providers increasingly focus on scalable systems, automated surveillance, connectivity and technology-enabled risk management to support increasingly diverse asset classes.
For DGX, the collaboration with TCS is expected to provide a technology base for expanding its derivatives marketplace and connecting a wider range of regional and international market participants.
