Ahmedabad, Gujarat : The Board of Directors of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (GMDC) has endorsed the Land and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R) plan for “Baitarni-West,” one of India’s largest coal mines, situated in Odisha. This approval reflects GMDC’s commitment to balancing industrial development with energy security, recognizing coal as a critical component of India’s energy mix. The decision underscores GMDC’s dedication to expeditiously operationalize the mine, thereby fostering industrial growth in Odisha and enhancing energy security in Gujarat.
