Mumbai, September 24, 2025 – Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have announced a strategic collaboration to support India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, a key initiative of the Indian Air Force.
The consortium will jointly respond to the Expression of Interest (EoI) floated by the Government of India’s Aeronautical Development Agency in the coming weeks. The partnership combines L&T’s expertise in strategic defence and aerospace platforms with BEL’s capabilities in defence electronics and systems.
According to the companies, the collaboration underscores India’s commitment to advancing its defence capabilities in line with the government’s vision for an Atmanirbhar Bharat. The alliance is expected to deliver advanced, high-quality solutions for the country’s first 5th-generation fighter aircraft programme.
Both L&T and BEL have earlier played pivotal roles in the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) initiative by contributing aero-structure modules and mission-critical avionics. Building on this legacy, the two firms aim to provide world-class defence and aerospace systems to the Indian Air Force with timely delivery.
S. N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating that the collaboration with BEL represents a major step forward in modernising India’s defence capabilities. Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of BEL, added that the AMCA project reflects the nation’s growing strength in defence technology and expressed confidence in delivering a robust, future-ready solution for the Air Force.
