Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd. (KMEW) (BSE: 543273) has secured a three-year work order from the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) for maintenance dredging and salvaging at Kandla Port, valued at ₹17,77,64,664, including taxes.
The contract includes two key activities: maintaining water depths at cargo berths and oil jetties by removing silt and sediment, and salvaging materials such as wooden logs and scrap from the seabed. This marks KMEW’s first salvaging contract, significantly enhancing its expertise in dredging and complex marine projects.
For the Kandla Port contract, the company will use equipment from its existing fleet, leveraging its current dredger to maximize asset efficiency. This approach optimizes capital expenditures and operational costs while streamlining project execution.
