Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd APSEZ has formed a strategic partnership with Mothersons joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited SAMRX to establish a dedicated automobile export terminal at Dighi Port in Maharashtra. The collaboration positions Dighi Port as a new export gateway for car manufacturers in the Mumbai Pune automotive belt with a handling capacity of up to 200000 vehicles annually.

The partnership aims to strengthen Indias automotive logistics network by combining APSEZs integrated port capabilities with Mothersons specialised logistics expertise. The new RoRo terminal is expected to streamline finished vehicle movement improve supply chain efficiency and accelerate turnaround times for automotive exports.

The upcoming facility will feature single window RoRo operations covering yard management PDI charging storage and vessel loading. It will incorporate AI enabled yard optimisation tools designed to minimise dwell time and enhance real time vehicle visibility. The hub will also be equipped to support next generation EV exports and offer OEM integrated dashboards for live load planning and cargo tracking.

Dighi Ports location on the west coast provides strong connectivity to key industrial clusters and direct access to NH 66 enabling faster evacuation routes for manufacturers across Maharashtra. The port currently manages various cargo categories and its expansion into RoRo operations aligns with APSEZs plans to build future ready multimodal logistics ecosystems.

APSEZ continues to expand its national logistics footprint with 15 ports and terminals across India supported by rail connectivity multimodal logistics parks warehouses and a large fleet of trucks. The company handles a significant share of Indias port cargo and is targeting one billion tonnes of throughput by 2030.
