NODWIN Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies Limited, has just revealed that it’s acquired Starladder, a leading esports IP and services company. The deal is valued at an initial USD 5.5 million (around INR 46.75 crores), with the possibility of additional payments based on performance targets. As a result of this deal, Starladder will become a fully owned subsidiary of NODWIN Gaming Pte (Singapore), marking a major step in NODWIN’s global expansion, especially in terms of AAA intellectual properties and event production.
The acquisition involves the purchase of 100% of StarLadder’s shares, which will be a mix of a secondary sale and a stock swap. The total initial payment will be up to USD 5.5 million (INR 46.75 crores), with USD 2 million (INR 17 crores) paid in cash and the remaining USD 3.5 million (INR 29.75 crores) through NODWIN Gaming Pte shares. As part of this arrangement, Starladder’s founder, Roman Romanstov, will become a shareholder in NODWIN Gaming Pte and will continue to lead the company moving forward.
Founded in 2018 by Roman Romanstov, Starladder brings more than 20 years of experience in organizing esports events, with a portfolio that includes major events like the Valve CSGO Major, the Valve Dota2 Major and Minors, and 18 seasons of the legendary StarSeries for CS 1.6 and CSGO, as well as 17 seasons of StarSeries for Dota 2. Starladder has also worked on many white-label events, collaborating with top game developers like Valve, Tencent, Krafton, Blizzard, Riot Games, Supercell, Com2us, Moonton, and more.
