Khavda, Gujarat : SJVN Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (“SGEL”), has successfully secured a bid for 200 MW capacity in the tariff-based competitive bidding organized by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (“GUVNL”). This bidding aimed at the development of Solar Power Projects within the 1,125 MW GSECL Solar Park located at Khavda, Gujarat. The electronic reverse auction (e-RA) for this bidding took place on February 2, 2024, wherein SGEL emerged as the sole winner, acquiring the full bid capacity of 200 MW at a tariff rate of ₹2.66 per unit.

The 200 MW Solar Power Project is set to be developed on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis, with an estimated construction/development cost of approximately ₹1,100 Crore. It is anticipated that the project will generate around 504 MUs in its first year and achieve a cumulative energy generation of about 11,732 MUs over a period of 25 years. According to the Request for Selection (RfS), the project is slated to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between GUVNL and SGEL, spanning a duration of 25 years.

Upon commissioning, the project is expected to mitigate approximately 5,74,868 tonnes of carbon emissions, aligning with the Government of India’s mission to reduce carbon emissions. The Company is progressing rapidly towards its Shared Vision of achieving 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040. This Shared Vision is in harmony with the Government of India’s commitment to sourcing 50% of its energy from non-fossil fuel-based resources by 2030.
