Highway Infrastructure Limited (HIL) has received a work order worth ₹24.46 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for operating and collecting user fees at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza in Tamil Nadu. The company has also entered into a contract agreement with NHAI for the toll operations mandate. The contract agreement was signed on October 8, 2026, following the receipt of a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) earlier.
Under the agreement, Highway Infrastructure will manage toll collection at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza, located on the four-lane Karur–Dindigul section of National Highway 7 (NH-7), an important highway corridor in Tamil Nadu. The scope of work includes collecting user fees from vehicles using the highway and maintaining adjacent toilet facilities, including replenishing consumables.
The contract is scheduled to be executed over a period of 90 days. The order adds to Highway Infrastructure’s toll operations portfolio and strengthens its presence in the highway infrastructure sector, particularly in southern India.
Highway Infrastructure operates across tolling, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and real estate segments. The latest contract aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding its presence across high-traffic national highway corridors and increasing its portfolio of toll management projects.
Commenting on the development, Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director of Highway Infrastructure Limited, said the agreement represents an important step following the earlier Letter of Acceptance. He stated that the contract expands the company’s toll collection portfolio and strengthens its presence across key national highway corridors.
The company also indicated that its growing bidding pipeline and opportunities in the highway infrastructure sector could support further expansion of its order book. It expects its toll operations business to contribute to medium-term revenue visibility while leveraging its execution capabilities in the sector.
The ₹24.46 crore contract adds another toll operations mandate to Highway Infrastructure’s portfolio, with the company set to undertake toll collection and associated facility maintenance activities at the designated fee plaza for the specified contract period.
