RNIT AI Solutions Limited has entered into a Service Level Agreement with the Commissionerate of Higher Education (CHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, to deploy an artificial intelligence driven facial recognition attendance management system across higher education institutions in the state.
The agreement involves the design, development, integration, deployment and maintenance of a mobile driven facial recognition attendance platform. The system will be used to digitally authenticate and manage attendance for students, faculty and staff across institutions operating under the administrative control of the Commissionerate of Higher Education.
According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, the AI based Facial Recognition Attendance Management System will be implemented across approximately 3,900 institutions in Andhra Pradesh. These include government colleges, aided institutions and private higher education establishments such as degree colleges, engineering colleges, law colleges, pharmacy colleges, polytechnic institutions and teacher education institutes.
The platform is expected to serve around 1.3 million users, including students, faculty members and administrative staff. The system will enable automated attendance tracking through facial recognition technology using mobile devices, improving accuracy, efficiency and transparency in attendance management.
Under the scope of the agreement, RNIT AI Solutions will handle the complete lifecycle of the platform including system design, development, integration with departmental systems, deployment, user training, technical support and ongoing application maintenance.
The solution will be delivered under a Software as a Service model with transaction based pricing. The consideration for the services will depend on the number of attendance authentications processed through the facial recognition platform.
The company stated that the agreement has been executed in the ordinary course of business. The Service Level Agreement will remain valid for a period of two years from the date of execution.
The deployment is part of broader efforts to integrate artificial intelligence based digital systems in the higher education sector to streamline administrative processes and enhance operational efficiency across institutions.
