SPML will lead the venture with a 51 percent share. The project has been awarded by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Bharatpur, Rajasthan, under the central government’s Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the water supply network and ensuring reliable drinking water for more than 1.5 million residents in the Dholpur and Saipau blocks of Rajasthan. The scope of work includes construction of an intake well, raw water reservoirs of 10 and 12 million cubic meters on the Chambal River, and laying 712 kilometres of pipelines ranging from 100 mm to 2000 mm in diameter.
Additional infrastructure under the project will include 21 Elevated Service Reservoirs, main raw water pumping stations, a 135 MLD water treatment plant at RWR-2, a 5 MLD water treatment plant at Dholpur, cluster pumping stations, rising mains, and functional household tap connections. A comprehensive 10-year operation and maintenance contract is part of the agreement, with the EPC phase expected to be completed within 20 months, followed by a one-year defect liability period.
