ACME Solar Holdings Limited has announced that its subsidiaries have commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The commissioning expands the company’s operational renewable energy portfolio.
ACME Solar Commissions Phase-I of Hybrid Renewable Energy Project
Through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Private Limited, ACME Solar has commissioned Phase-I of a solar project at Kelan Village in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The commissioned phase includes 66.68 MW of solar capacity out of the project’s total planned solar capacity of 300 MW.
The project forms part of ACME Solar’s first hybrid renewable energy project, which combines 300 MW of solar capacity with 100 MW of wind capacity. The project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited, while long-term project financing has been arranged with PFC.
ACME Solar expects to commission the entire 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27. Following the commissioning of the full project, the company’s operational renewable energy capacity is expected to reach approximately 3,057 MW.
Phase-I BESS Capacity Commissioned
Separately, ACME Solar, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, has commissioned Phase-I of the Battery Energy Storage System component of its FDRE project.
The commissioned phase comprises 53.63 MW / 300 MWh of BESS capacity out of the project’s total planned capacity of 300 MW / 1,581 MWh.
The project is described by the company as its first assured off-peak power supply project. A Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed with SJVN Limited, while long-term project financing has been arranged with REC.
ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity for the project by Q3 FY27.
ACME Solar Operational BESS Capacity Reaches 4.16 GWh
With the latest commissioning, ACME Solar said it has crossed the 4 GWh milestone in operational BESS capacity. The company’s total operational BESS capacity now stands at approximately 4.16 GWh.
The commissioning adds both solar generation and energy storage capacity to ACME Solar’s operating portfolio as the company continues to expand its renewable energy and energy storage projects.
