Cyient Semiconductors has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies, a global player in power management, analog, and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions. The proposed transaction, with a total consideration of up to USD 93 million, marks a strategic step in Cyient Semiconductors’ efforts to expand its presence in the fast-growing power semiconductor and custom integrated circuit market.
The acquisition, once completed, is expected to strengthen Cyient Semiconductors’ capabilities in developing application-specific power integrated circuits tailored for high-growth segments such as edge artificial intelligence, data centers, electrification, automotive electronics, networking infrastructure, and industrial automation. The global power semiconductor market is estimated to exceed USD 40 billion, supported by rising demand for energy-efficient and high-performance computing systems.
Kinetic Technologies brings an established portfolio of high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, including power conversion, protection, display power, and interface solutions. The company holds more than 100 patents and has built proprietary power and protection architectures used across consumer electronics, computing, communications, industrial, automotive, and enterprise applications.
By combining Cyient Semiconductors’ custom ASIC and ASSP design capabilities with Kinetic Technologies’ power management expertise, the proposed transaction aims to enable faster development of differentiated power IC solutions. The collaboration is expected to address complex challenges related to power efficiency, thermal management, scalability, and system reliability in high-volume deployments, particularly in edge AI and high-performance computing environments.
Cyient Semiconductors has clarified that the acquisition has not yet been completed. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the coming months. Until completion, Kinetic Technologies will continue to operate under its existing leadership and organizational structure, ensuring continuity for customers, partners, and employees.
Once finalized, the acquisition is expected to support Cyient Semiconductors’ long-term growth strategy and enhance its position in the global semiconductor value chain, with a sharper focus on custom power solutions for next-generation digital infrastructure.
