Key Highlights

  • Apollo Micro Systems receives 15-year defence manufacturing license.
  • Approval covers Unmanned Aerial Systems and unmanned helicopters.
  • License includes production of INS and advanced radar equipment.
  • UAS platforms to enter field trials within next two quarters.
  • Company collaborating with domestic and global partners for development.

Apollo Micro Systems Limited has been granted a 15-year defence manufacturing license by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), enabling the company to expand its capabilities in defence technology and advanced aerospace systems.

The approval permits the company to manufacture unmanned helicopters, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), and complete radar equipment, including associated subsystems. The licence strengthens the company’s eligibility for upcoming defence manufacturing opportunities.

Apollo Micro Systems is currently developing multiple UAS platforms and working with domestic and international partners on logistics, delivery, and attack-class unmanned systems. These platforms are progressing on schedule and are expected to enter field trials within the next two quarters.

The company is also advancing its INS technology portfolio, including MEMS-based, Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG)-based, and Ring Laser Gyro (RLG)-based navigation systems. Parallel development in radar systems includes production, integration, and testing of various subassemblies. Procurement of specialised test and calibration equipment is underway to support these initiatives.
