Cyient Semiconductors has announced a strategic financing transaction with funds managed by Edelweiss and affiliated co-investors as the company looks to accelerate growth in the semiconductor sector. The transaction includes an equity investment of approximately USD 10 million at a post-money equity valuation of nearly USD 500 million along with structured debt financing aimed at supporting future expansion plans.

The overall transaction value stands at nearly USD 30 million including around USD 20 million of structured debt capital. According to the company, the financing will help strengthen its capital structure and support the scaling of its global semiconductor operations. The transaction remains subject to definitive agreements and customary closing conditions.

Cyient Semiconductors stated that the investment proceeds will be deployed across three key areas. These include advancing product research and development for custom power semiconductor solutions and application-specific standard products, developing in-house semiconductor testing and validation infrastructure in India, and supporting working capital requirements as the company takes on larger and longer-duration customer programs.

Over the last year the company has expanded its semiconductor capabilities through multiple strategic initiatives. It completed the acquisition of Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor company with more than 3 billion chips shipped globally, over 250 products and more than 100 patents. The company also introduced India’s first GaN power integrated circuit family through a partnership with Navitas Semiconductor and formed ecosystem collaborations with GlobalFoundries, MIPS and Navitas.

Cyient Semiconductors said the latest investment will strengthen its focus on proprietary power semiconductor technologies and custom silicon development. The company is targeting growing demand across sectors including artificial intelligence infrastructure, automotive, industrial systems and communications markets.

The company noted that rising artificial intelligence adoption is increasing demand for power-efficient semiconductor technologies, with data center energy consumption expected to rise significantly in the coming years. It believes this trend alongside India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem could create long-term opportunities for growth.
