Shipping Corporation of India Signs MoU With CONCOR, JNPA and Ports to Strengthen Container Logistics

The Shipping Corporation of India has entered into a strategic multi-agency Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen India’s container logistics ecosystem. The agreement was signed with Container Corporation of India, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, V O Chidambaranar Port Authority, Chennai Port Authority, and Sagarmala Finance Corporation.

The collaboration has been undertaken as part of the Government of India’s logistics and infrastructure initiatives led by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in coordination with the Ministry of Railways. The objective of the MoU is to jointly acquire, own, lease and operate container vessels, containers and allied logistics assets.

According to the disclosure, the partnership will focus on both export-import and coastal trade operations. By combining maritime, port-based, rail and land transportation capabilities, the participating entities aim to deliver an integrated end-to-end logistics solution for customers across domestic and international supply chains.

The initiative is expected to leverage the operational expertise of Shipping Corporation of India in shipping services, CONCOR’s rail-based logistics network, and the port infrastructure of JNPA, VOCPA and Chennai Port Authority, supported by financing solutions from Sagarmala Finance Corporation.

The MoU was formally executed on February 3, 2026
