EMS Limited Emerges as L-1 Bidder for Rs 218.65 Crore Rajasthan Sewerage Project

EMS Limited has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L-1) for a major sewerage infrastructure project in Rajasthan with an estimated value of Rs 218.65 crore, including GST. The project has been awarded by the Directorate of Local Bodies, Government of Rajasthan, and is expected to strengthen the company’s order pipeline in the water and wastewater infrastructure segment.

The project covers sewerage and septage management works across six Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) located in the districts of Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu in Rajasthan. The scope of work includes the development of sewerage systems along with Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), as well as the laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of sewerage networks.

EMS Limited will execute the project over a period of 18 months. The contract also includes a one-year defect liability period and 10 years of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services. The project is expected to add to the company’s portfolio of urban sanitation, wastewater treatment and sustainable water infrastructure projects.

The latest L-1 status further expands EMS Limited’s presence in Rajasthan and strengthens its participation in the state’s urban water and sanitation infrastructure projects. The company has been pursuing opportunities across sewerage, wastewater treatment and related infrastructure segments.

As of June 30, 2026, EMS Limited’s order book stood at approximately Rs 2,328.91 crore. The company had also received L-1 status in June 2026 for another sewerage project in Varanasi valued at approximately Rs 102.85 crore, adding to its pipeline of urban water and sanitation projects.

Commenting on the development, Ramveer Singh, Chairman of EMS Limited, said the Rajasthan project represents a significant addition to the company’s growing project pipeline. He stated that the project would reinforce the company’s capabilities in large-scale sewerage and wastewater infrastructure while providing an opportunity to utilise its expertise across sewerage networks, treatment infrastructure and long-term O&M services.

The company has maintained its focus on urban infrastructure, sanitation and wastewater management, areas that continue to generate opportunities for specialised engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies. EMS Limited is also looking to leverage its execution capabilities and order pipeline to participate in the development of water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment infrastructure.

The Rajasthan project comes amid an improvement in EMS Limited’s operating performance. During Q1 FY27, the company reported standalone operating income of Rs 125.72 crore, marking a 50.27% sequential increase, while standalone EBITDA rose 39.81% sequentially to Rs 25.53 crore.

On a consolidated basis, operating income increased 30.49% sequentially to Rs 157.24 crore, while EBITDA rose 31.62% to Rs 28.14 crore. The company continues to focus on water supply, sewerage, wastewater treatment and related urban infrastructure projects as it seeks to expand its presence in the sector.
