Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited has announced that it has received a contract from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), under the Ministry of Defence, valued at approximately ₹80.28 crore including taxes. The order relates to the development of a high precision optical system designed for air defence applications.

The company disclosed the development through a regulatory filing to stock exchanges on March 9, 2026. According to the filing, the contract has been awarded by DRDO as part of efforts to strengthen advanced defence technologies and indigenous capabilities within India’s defence sector.

Under the agreement, Paras Defence will undertake the development of a specialised optical system that will support air defence platforms. High precision optical systems are critical components used in surveillance, targeting, tracking and guidance systems in modern defence infrastructure.

The order has been awarded by a domestic entity, DRDO, which functions under the Ministry of Defence and is responsible for developing advanced military technologies for the Indian armed forces. The project is expected to contribute to the country’s ongoing focus on strengthening indigenous defence manufacturing and technological self reliance.
