Swiggy Instamart has expanded to 100 cities, responding to rising demand for 10-minute deliveries in tier 2 and 3 regions. Recent launches include Raipur, Siliguri, Jodhpur, and Thanjavur. The platform now offers 30,000+ products, covering groceries, electronics, fashion, and more.

Consumer Shift Beyond Metros : CEO Amitesh Jha noted that in 2025, one in four new users came from smaller cities, highlighting growing demand. Quick commerce is no longer limited to metro areas, with more consumers opting for fast, convenience-driven shopping.

Local Business and Logistics Impact : Swiggy is introducing ‘megapods’ large dark stores stocking 50,000 SKUs to expand product variety, including local brands like Sudha Milk (Patna) and Vachan (Raipur). This expansion also increases employment for store staff and delivery workers.

Challenges in Scaling : Expanding quick commerce to smaller cities presents logistical challenges, including infrastructure, inventory management, and workforce training. Sustainability of 10-minute deliveries remains a question due to operational costs and delivery strain.

Industry Shift : Swiggy’s move signals the deepening reach of quick commerce in India. How effectively it manages speed, efficiency, and costs will determine its long-term viability in smaller cities.
