Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), a fully integrated solar company based in India and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has successfully completed the nation’s largest Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project. This project, located in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, comprises a 100 MW Solar PV Project combined with a 120 MWh Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
Key highlights :
- The project consists of a 100 MW Solar PV Project paired with a 120 MWh Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System.
- It aims to produce approximately 243.53 million units of energy per year and decrease the carbon footprint by 4.87 million tonnes of CO2 over 25 years.
- Cutting-edge bifacial monocrystalline technology was employed in the project.
TPSSL secured this ₹945 crore project through an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) in December 2021. The scope of work included engineering, design, supply, construction, erection, testing, operations and maintenance, as well as commissioning of the projects.
Despite encountering challenges such as unsuitable soil conditions and a remote location, the TPSSL team demonstrated exceptional project execution and engineering expertise. They successfully completed the project within the designated timeframe. The project utilized cutting-edge Bifacial Mono Crystalline technology, with 239,685 modules incorporating this advanced technology.
